ABCDs of writing objectives

Write a post about the ABCDs of writing objectives.   For fun (and practice) write an objective for your child, husband, room mate, etc., about something you wish they did a bit better.  Here is an objective I wrote for my husband:  Given the correct cleaning supplies, Bob will clean and polish the stove with 90% accuracy.

A is for Audience
B is for Behavior
C is for Condition
D is for Degree

After watching the video how to flood towel correctly, My boyfriend will food towels properly with 90% accuracy.

I was very happy to learn about the ABCDs of writing objectives because this allowed me to have a better understand on how to properly do it. I'm still little worried about writing them because I feel that this is one of the most difficult things to do.

  1. Kayla, So the audience would be your boyfriend, the behavior would be fold towels properly, the condition would be "after watching the video 'how to fold towels correctly'" and the degree would be with 90% accuracy. I think writing objectives can be difficult, but after this lesson, I am much more confident about it. The ABCD's definitely helped. Great job

Madeline Hunter Lesson Plan Design

The Madeline Hunter lesson plan is a seven parts, that include objectives, standards, anticipatory set, teaching [input, modeling, and check for understanding], guided practice, closure, and independent practice. I find this plan easy to follow because it breaks it down into simple steps. There are several things I find difficult with this lesson plan design. The first being research- based strategies because I need to get more comfortable using then in my lesson. The next being extension and modification because I find it difficult to come up with them without having knowledge of the education level of students.  I know that it just takes practice when writing lesson plans, so I'm excited to get better at it. That is why I love these courses because I get a chance to learn new things.
